Pennsylvania Direct Care Workers Can Earn a $300 Training Stipend

If you or someone you know is starting a career in home care, home health, or hospice, there’s an exciting opportunity to earn a $300 training stipend—just for learning the foundations of quality care and beginning work with a licensed Pennsylvania agency.

Through a program funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, new direct care workers (DCWs) can receive this one-time payment while completing essential training and getting started in their new role. It’s a wonderful way to support those entering our state’s vital caregiving workforce.

Who’s Eligible

To qualify for the $300 stipend, individuals must:

  • Be seeking employment or newly employed in home care, home health, or hospice.

  • Be new to the industry within the past six months.

  • Be working in Pennsylvania.

All licensed Pennsylvania home care, home health, and hospice agencies are approved to participate.

How It Works

  1. The direct care worker applies online.

  2. They complete the required My Learning Center training modules (including training videos).

  3. They work a minimum of 40 hours with a licensed Pennsylvania agency.

  4. Finally, they complete this brief completion survey and upload their paystub to receive the stipend.
