CareChoice Company is committed to providing home care services in compliance with all federal, state, and local civil rights laws. We do not exclude, deny services to, or otherwise discriminate against any individual on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation, and pregnancy), religion, disability, age, veteran status, genetic information, or reprisal/retaliation for prior civil rights activity.

Federal Compliance

In accordance with:

  • Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 – prohibits discrimination based on race, color, and national origin.
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) – prohibit discrimination based on disability.
  • Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 – prohibits discrimination based on sex.
  • Age Discrimination Act of 1975 – prohibits discrimination based on age.
  • Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) – prohibits discrimination in health programs on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

CareChoice also complies with all applicable U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights requirements.

State Compliance

CareChoice complies with all state civil rights and human relations laws in the states where we operate, including:

  • Pennsylvania Human Relations Act (PHRA) – prohibits discrimination based on race, color, sex, ancestry, age, national origin, disability, and religion.
  • Georgia Fair Employment Practices Act and Georgia Age Discrimination Act – prohibit discrimination in employment based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, and disability.
  • Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act and Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act – prohibit discrimination based on religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, height, weight, familial or marital status, and disability.
  • Florida Civil Rights Act – prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, handicap, or marital status.
  • New York State Human Rights Law – prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, military status, disability, marital status, and age.
  • Ohio Civil Rights Act – prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, military status, national origin, disability, age, or ancestry.
  • Texas Commission on Human Rights Act (TCHRA) – prohibits discrimination based on race, color, disability, religion, sex, national origin, or age.

Language & Accessibility Assistance

CareChoice provides free aids and services to people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, such as qualified sign language interpreters, written information in other formats (large print, audio, accessible electronic formats, and others). We also provide free language services to people whose primary language is not English.

How to File a Complaint
